Our scarlet espresso “Barista Competition XL 58 mm” hoppers for sieve trays are precision-machined from a solid block of V2A stainless steel by CNC machine and are dishwasher safe. These funnels fit all classic sieve carriers with 58,5 mm sieves (1, 2 etc.). The concave bottom of the funnel ensures that it sits securely on the curved edge of the sieve.

With the help of our funnel, all the ground coffee goes into the sieve and not onto the worktop, the edge of the sieve or the handle. During the grinding process, the ground coffee accumulates in the opening of the funnel and can be tamped directly into the sieve below with a suitable 58,5 mm tamper. After removing the funnel you can see that the coffee puck is perfectly and straightly prepared, because the tamper in the funnel is kept straight by the narrow guide.

The large collecting surface of the hopper of 88 mm is also excellently suited for subsequent transfer of the material to be ground into the sieve. First from the mill, for example, into a Dosing Cup and from there into the sieve, as is common practice in Barista competitions held worldwide. If you want to use the funnel directly at the mill, please check that there is a distance of at least 22 mm between the mill ejector and the upper sieve fire with the sieve support in place.
