Correct tamping is a basic requirement in the preparation of espresso.

During the extraction process, oils, fats, flavours and other aromas are extracted from the ground coffee in the portafilter. The tamper enjoys an often underestimated and extremely important function here and is responsible for perfect compaction of the ground coffee in the sieve.

The more thoroughly the coffee puck is prepared, the better the espresso will turn out. With a perfect coffee puck, the hot water passes evenly through every part of the sieve, as it encounters the same resistance everywhere and the extraction from all the ground coffee is therefore uniform.

The groove incorporated into the base also makes it easier to visually check that the puck is falling out straight for perfect espresso results.

With the tamper, which fits very well in the hand, this can be done quickly and cleanly. The ergonomically shaped precious wood handle fits perfectly to the precision-manufactured tamper base made of stainless steel and supports the very good handling.

The underside of the tamper base is polished so that the surface of the coffee puck can be perfectly smoothed at the end by lightly turning it.

The beautiful wooden handle can be unscrewed for cleaning, so that the tamper base can also be cleaned in the dishwasher.
