There are many pitfalls lurking in the espresso preparation process that can negatively impact the quality of the espresso. Even when the dosage, grind size, and machine settings are correct, you still don't always get the best from the coffee bean.

If you're not careful, you can easily hold the tamper unevenly while pressing, resulting in a crooked coffee puck. The water seeks the path of least resistance and thus flows more along the flat side. The result is an uneven extraction.

Our ergonomically designed tamper guarantees repeatable, clean, and consistent production of a straight, even coffee puck. Simply place the tamper on the sieve filled with ground coffee and apply pressure through the contoured handle. This compresses the ground coffee evenly. The edges of the tamper are deliberately not machined at a 90-degree angle, but rather taper towards the bottom. This allows for a very precise fit without jamming and neatly compresses the ground coffee even at the edges. This keeps the brewing group clean and enables the best extraction.

Please note that for Sage Barista machines you must always choose a diameter of 53 mm.
